The verdant green fields of the Fujairah National Dairy Farm near Dibba are in stark contrast to the arid hills running north to the tip of the Musandam overlooking the Straits of Hormuz. The farm parlour produces top quality milk from both Friesian and Jersey cows held in outdoor byres. Wildlife in the fields includes a blaze of such brightly-coloured birds as Indian rollers (Coracias benghalensis) and blue-cheeked bee-eaters (Merops superciliosus), with many migrant birds being attracted to the same area.
